Meet Cortney Nadig ~ She has graciously taken the time to share her thoughts on the Hawaii Youth Symphony Summer Strings program! Enjoy & Thank You so much Cortney for writing this parent review!
My daughter Haley has been taking lessons with Bree for two years and is doing great. However, I felt like she would really benefit from the Hawaii Youth Symphony summer class. There are about 30 children playing all different string instruments. I thought that playing in a group would help her pick up the timing of the music better as well as the intensity and feel of the music. The class is every weekday for five weeks and so far I have seen her really improve her playing.
As an added bonus, she is more motivated to practice and ENJOYING it too. I am very glad I chose to enroll her in this class and feel she will have gotten the much needed experience she needed to continue her playing progress. It doesn’t come without difficulty and sacrifice. I have had to drive across town to UH from Kapolei everyday and spent more on gas than the class itself. I know, it sounds like it isn’t worth the effort.
I will tell anyone who asks, “I am very glad I did it.” It was a sacrifice, but well worth it. I am glad I put in that little extra for my daughter’s music experience.
